Biography
I was born in 1880 in France. When I was little, I was a rather bad-tempered child. Still, my first communion and confirmation touched me deeply. I was introduced to an interior life full of prayers. At age fourteen I made a private vow of chastity and was determined to become a Carmelite sister. Despite my mother’s opposition, I entered the Dijon Carmel in 1901 and received the name Elizabeth of Trinity. In the convent, I led a life of simple and joyful service. I became known for the depth of my spiritual closeness to God. However, after some time I contracted Addison’s disease. I suffered intensely but joyfully up to the moment of my death in 1906.
