Servant of God Guido Schäffer

I was born in Brazil in 1974. My parents baptised me at the age of 7 months. My greatest hobby was surfing. I graduated from medical school in 1998. I had joined several prayer groups. In addition I began to work with the Missionaries of Charity to take care for the poor. As a pilgrim I visited shrines of the saints in Rome, France and Portugal in 2000. This is when I understood that God was calling me to become a priest. I began to study theology, while continuing my work for the poor. I attended World Youth Day in Canada and in Germany. I died the 1st of May, 2009, in a surfing accident at the beach of Rio de Janeiro.
