Saint Domenico Savio

I was born in Italy, in 1842. I was educated in the Catholic faith and my parents taught me how important it was to put Jesus first. They wanted me to be educated, but they could not afford the costs. One day, I met Don Bosco, a priest from Turin who helped poor boys. He was impressed by my faith and my desire to learn. He invited me to attend the school he had founded. There, I advanced further in my faith. I prayed the rosary a lot and went to confession and received Holy Communion regularly. Although I was mocked by other students, it did not matter. I asked Don Bosco to help me become a saint, which was my life's desire. When I was 14, I fell ill. I died just before my 15th birthday.
