Saint Gabriel the Archangel

I am one of the Archangels and served as a messenger for God to several people. My name means "God is my strength". I appeared to the prophet Daniel to explain his visions and  later to provide him with more insight and understanding. Much later, as “the angel of the Lord”, I appeared to Zacharias, the father of John the Baptist, to announce to him that his wife, Elizabeth, would bear a son. Six months after Elizabeth conceived, I was sent to Nazareth to visit a virgin, named Mary, who was engaged to a man named Joseph. I told Mary she would bear a son through the Holy Spirit, and that she should call him Jesus. I usually hold a trumpet to indicate the announcement of the Lord's return to earth.
